Who We Are

Gas and Gasoline is a passion project by Kishan Dwarakanath. Kishan has had a life-long love affair with two things: for automobiles and for finding scientific patterns in the mysterious workings of nature and the human animal.

After completing his undergraduate engineering degree, Kishan attended medical school and became enamored of the machine which is the human body and the way it elegantly struggles to preserve life in one of the most trying arenas: that within the confines of an operating room. Kishan completed his residency in Anesthesiology in 2010 and further indulged his professional interests by completing an additional year of sub specialization in adult cardiothoracic and vascular anesthesia. He continues to teach Cardiac Anesthesia daily in operating rooms and has been involved in the training of over 100 adult cardiac anesthesiology fellows who have taken positions all around the country.

In parallel, Kishan continued to develop his skills as a driver and now serves as an instructor for the Porsche Club of America’s High Performance Driver Education program. The marriage of these two seemingly disparate skill sets comes naturally to Kishan who sees little distinction between guiding a patient through a complicated anesthetic for major surgery and for guiding a race car through a corner at its limit: they are both highly technical skills which still require an intangible “artfulness” to master.
